Welcome to St. Francis!

We welcome you as you join us in a warm and friendly setting for true, Christ-centered worship. We uphold the ancient faith of the church in the Episcopal tradition, offering traditional Christian values based on the Holy Word of God, and are faithful witnesses to the person of Jesus in the Austin community.

St. Francis' liturgical standard is the 1928 Book of Common Prayer--a document which is orthodox in its expression of the Christian faith based on prayers that have been part of catholic worship for 2000 years.

In a world where biblical values seem to change with each new interpretation St. Francis Episcopal Church stands for biblical truth which does not change with each passing generation. If you are concerned about shifting social mores, want to be the Christian that God wants you to be and need guidance on that sometimes difficult path, and want to be challenged each week to work toward that goal, we hope that you will visit and experience our worship and values first hand.

Parish news

Sunday School is on summer vacation but plans are underway for resumption on September 7th at 9:30. There will be two classes: one for children in grades 5 and under and another for youth in grades 6 and up. If you are holding a secret desire in your heart to teach a class for a few weeks this upcoming school year please contact Amy Crandell.

Parking options at St. Francis: When using the parking space around the church, please remember the following:

- When parking at the far north side of the property behind the Parish House (beyond the two trees), be sure to park straight in, rather than pulling in at an angle. Cars come from both directions to park.

- Remember that there is space at the back of the property (down the hill from the rental house behind the church). This can be accessed from 10^th street by turning on Maufrais Street – right next to the park.

- You can also park on Maufrais Street next to the park and walk to the church, which is about the same distance as some are having to park on 9^th street.

Do you know that St. Francis has home groups? Each group of 7-12 adults meets periodically in the home of various group members. During the course of the evening, the lessons and psalm for the upcoming Sunday service are read and discussed. Please see the Rev. John Stults if you are interested in joining a home group.

Sermons Online: All sermons in the tape library are now digitized and available on the web site. Access the full library from 2002 to the present is available here. Digital sermons are on vacation for July but are available in person.

Newsletter: The June, 2008 edition of the newsletter is available online in PDF format. Click here to view it. The newsletter will resume in October.
